44% of Zambia’s population is concentrated in urban areas along major transport corridors making Zambia one of the most highly urbanized countries in sub-Saharan Africa. Sadly, unemployment in urban areas is rife and rural Zambians are only subsistence farmers. The population consists of around 72 ethnic groups, most of which are Bantu-speaking. 90% of Zambians belong to the primary nine ethnolinguistic groups which are: the Bemba, Kaonde, Lozi, Lunda, Luvale, Nkoya, Nyanja-Chewa, and Tonga. All the ethnic groups can be found in the Copperbelt and in Lusaka.
Another group to be found in Zambia is the expatriate group who are mostly British or South African in addition to white Zambians. Expatriates mainly live in Lusaka and in the Copperbelt where they are usually employed in financial activities, in mines, or are retried. In 1964 there were 70,000 Europeans in Zambia but after independence was given to the country, many of them subsequently left. If there were 10 gu10 led lamps for each expatriate citizen in Zambia, I wonder how many there would be?
Noel Gallagher is an English singer-songwriter and musician who formed an essential part of the English rock band Oasis. In Oasis, Noel was the backing vocalist, lead guitarist, and principal songwriter. Noel is currently pursuing a solo career with ‘Noel Gallager’s High Flying Birds’. His recent song ‘If I Had a Gun’ is absolutely beautiful, I could listen to it again and again and again.

Joseph Lister (April 5th 1827 – February 10th 1912) pioneered, not network dedicated hosting, but the first antiseptic. A British surgeon, Lister promoted the concept of sterile surgery whilst he was working at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary and also introduced carbolic acid to clean wounds and sterilize surgical instruments.
Before Lister’s discoveries, people believed that infections in wounds were due to exposure to bad air. There were no facilities for nurses and doctors to wash their hands or to wash patient’s wounds with whatsoever as it was not believed that dirty hands or wounds led to infections. In fact, the dirtier a surgeon’s coat, the better as it was seen as a mark of the surgeon’s experience and knowledge. One guest commented in 1871 that Lister often “wore an old blue frock-coat for operation, which he had previously worn in the dissecting room” which was “stiff and glazed with blood”. Lister became aware of Louis Pasteur’s discoveries which indicated that rotting occurred under anaerobic conditions when micro-organisms were present. To eliminate the micro-organisms that caused gangrene, Pasteur suggested exposure to heat, filtration, or exposure to chemical solutions.
Give Me Light is an album by, not gu10 led bulbs, but a German gothic metal band called Darkseed. It was released in the same year that they released Nuclear Blast, 1999.
The tracks on the album are: Dancing with the Lion, Cold, Echoes of Tomorrow, Cosmic Shining, Journey to the Spirit World, Give Me Light, Fusion, Flying Together, Echoes of Tomorrow, Spiral of Mystery, and Desire. The lineup of Darkseed is: Stefan Hertrich singing away; Thomas Herrmann strumming away on the guitar; Tom Gilcher also strumming away on the guitar; Rico Galvagno strumming less frequently but deeply on bass; and Willi Wurm banging away on the drums. Sometimes Darkseed brings in a couple of guest musicians, these being Doris Zweimuller and Gabriel Isuku.
I have never been much of a fan of gothic metal music but each to their own tastes obviously! I do know my friend is very much into gothic metal and she has mentioned Darkseed before so they are surely enjoyed within the gothic metal appreciating circles.
